The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) is the largest multi-disciplinary organization working to help women across all science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Their vision is that women in the STEM fields will be:
" -Compensated fairly and without discrimination
- Advanced equitably and without bias
- Exposed to successful role models in leadership positions
- Recognized and respected for their scientific and leadership achievements "

We have that very same vision and hope to carry out AWIS' goals on our very own California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) campus! Our affiliate organization's objectives for our campus are to:
- Empower CSULA's women in STEM through inspirational lectures, events, or activities,
- Provide a group of supporting individuals who our members can always turn to,
- Open up opportunities such as scholarships, internships, jobs, conferences, lectures, etc. for our members and all women in science,
- Support the interests of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics across all disciplines and employment sectors, and
- Make a difference in helping to increase the amount of women in the STEM field, as well as the appreciation and acceptance of them.
